Her private practice includes therapy with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, attention and distractibility problems, eating disorders, and problem behaviors interfering with success in school or work.  Jan has extensive experience with schools providing groups and individual mental health services to children and adolescents, and consultations to teachers and parents.  She also provides supervision to professional social workers.

Clinical Social WorkerA clinical social worker is a professional trained to assess, diagnose, and treat social, emotional, behavioral, and psychological problems which interfere with an individual or couple’s ability to have successful and meaningful work and personal relationships.
  
Psychoanalyst—A psycholanalyst is trained under the auspices of the American Psychoanalytic Association and have had rigours and extensive clinical education. Candidates can be physicians, psychologist, social workers or hold a clinical masters degree in a mental health field. All accepted candidates, whatever their background, then begin at least four years of psychoanalytic training consisting of three parts. candidates attend classes in psychoanalytic theory and technique. They undergo a personal analysis. And they conduct the psychoanalysis of at least three patients under the close and extended supervision of an experienced analyst.
